This weekend the eGames and Digital Lifestyle expo is on at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. The expo showcases current and soon to be released games for Consoles and PC. PC Hardware, retro gaming, anime and digital devices were also on show.
This year the expo seemed less crowded, so offered a good chance to get some hands-on experience with games without queuing for ages.

After seeing a multitude of “Coach” titles coming out of the Ubisoft offices, I was happy to see Japanese Coach being developed.
So, is this a good learning tool for beginners to the language? Or just a gimmick?

Released in 1999, Freespace 2 is a space combat game created by Volition, and published by Interplay.
One of Volition’s earlier games, they went on to make Summoner, Red Faction and Saints Row.
The game was included for free in a recent issue of an Australian PC games magazine “PCPowerplay” (November 2008 Issue #157).

So I’ve pre-ordered my copy of Fallout 3, and decided to go for the collectors edition. Many collectors editions are fairly sparse on features, usually with a “Making of” DVD and a bonus multiplayer map. The fallout 3 edition has some pretty cool stuff.

Armada Online (AO) is a free MMO game that is currently being developed by EvStream.
AO is a space based action game where players pilot starships against each other and aliens (Armada).
Whilst still in alpha, the game is available to download and play. An active community reports bugs and requests features to developers in an open environment.
